Artist Statement / Biography

I grew up in Zimbabwe, southern Africa, surrounded by vibrant colors and powerful scenery. I painted everything I felt and saw, even if it was on the walls of my mother’s veranda. Trained in theater design and literature, I have the tendency to paint large and dramatic pieces, and for many years designed and painted murals in homes, libraries, and schools. After decades of studying many different styles of art, I have come to realize I have the most fun pushing boundaries and was recently awarded an honorable mention for my piece, “Falling”.

It has been an exciting journey discovering my style as an expressionist; drama, poetry, emotion, paint and texture - fused to capture the exciting essence of my world.
