Artist Statement / Biography

Artist Statement

Years ago, when I first learned the craft of basket weaving, I was more concerned with making baskets that had a traditional, more functional purpose. Today form, color, and intricacies of pattern occupy my mind as I weave more contemporary baskets.

Biography

Jacquelyn O'Hare is an artist who lives in Peterborough, New Hampshire. She received her BFA in Three Dimensional Design from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, and a M.S.A.E from Massachusetts College of Art, Boston.

She has exhibited her baskets at the Brush Art Gallery, Lowell, MA, the Fuller Craft Museum, Brockton, MA, the Jaffrey Civic Center and the Sharon Arts Gallery in Peterborough and the Healing Arts Gallery at Monadnock Community Hospital.

Jacquelyn is a member of the Northeast Basketmakers Guild and National Basketry Organization.
