Artist Statement / Biography

I don’t remember a time when I wasn’t producing some kind of art. I earned a BFA degree from Beaver College (now Arcadia University) where I studied painting and printmaking with world renowned lithographer, Benton Spruance and painter and printmaker, John Hathaway. Years later, I made the switch from oils to watercolor under the tutelage of John Cook of Toledo, Ohio. While living in Ohio I worked as a graphic artist for Tiffin University.
After my retirement, I moved with my husband to one of the most beautiful regions in America—New Hampshire.
I paint what I like and hope others will share my enthusiasm. Architecture has always interested me—whether barns, houses, porches, doors, or lighthouses. At times the human form will find its way into a painting—either as a primary or a secondary element. Over the years I have cultivated an interest in painting the flowers from my garden. And birds feeding at the feeders outside my kitchen windows are an endless source of ideas.
