Artist Statement / Biography

Artist Statement

My art focuses on the joyful energy of life in nature and on the continuum of time: beginnings and endings, rejuvenation, connections between Earth and universe and the mystery of spirit.

My work is a combined creative energy of mind, spirit and environment. The environment may be the company of fellow artists or complete solitude, outdoors in nature or working in my studio.

I am a multiple-media artist, working in metals, ceramic and glass. I am a landscape painter and create with four painting mediums: oil, acrylic, watercolor and pastel. I enjoy the experience of making art, and this experience is as important to me as the finished work. I am grateful for rushes of spontaneous energy, which lift me out of the mental world into a joyful, creative mode.
